The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in providing therapy programs for referred clients with developmental deficit; physical injury, illness, or disability; and injury prevention or health promotion under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) and in coordination with other health professionals. This position is primarily an outpatient focus with cross training to inpatient and potential to further experience in Lymphedema and Pediatrics as well. While specific tasks may vary, general responsibilities include:

  • Performing occupational therapy treatments, documenting services, and educating patients of all ages.
  • Directing patient participation according to the established plan of care and in accordance with clinical best practice guidelines and within the scope of OT practice to restore, reinforce, and enhance patient performance and function.
  • Should possess the skills to be adaptable to a dynamic team environment and open to the idea of developing, promoting, and performing new programs to facilitate rehabilitation.
  • Responsible for student supervision and delegation to support staff.

LOCATION: Medford, WI Aspirus Medford Hospital & Clinics


Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Graduation from an accredited university with successful completion (or pending completion) of National Board for Certification on Occupational Therapy.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical skills and abilities
  • Greater than or equal to one year of clinical experience desired


Candidates should possess one or more of the following:

  • Associated degree in Applied Sciences from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
  • Must hold current BLS certification/CPR is required
  • Licensed in or pending licensure in the state of Wisconsin by date of hire is required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
