POSITION
Summary:
The Driver is responsible for the timely pick-up, delivery, and transport of goods to and from Nestle Distribution Centers, Plants, 3rd Party Warehouses, and our Customers. In compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, the Driver is responsible for transporting these goods up to 350 miles/day (local) or 500 miles/day (regional).

PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
o Operate up to a 53 foot tractor-trailer in a variety of conditions including highway, urban and rural driving in a safe and efficient manner
o Timely delivery of merchandise to customers which may include manual unloading
o Perform required motor vehicle inspections
o Maintain trip envelope, daily vehicle inspection reports, and other required paperwork
o Utilize PeopleNet to obtain delivery assignments
o Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and peers
o Comply with state, federal, and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures
o Utilize e-log system in PeopleNet to maintain electronic log records
o Report to your Terminal Manager the required 2 near miss incidents per quarter
o May be required to lift and/or carry up to 65 pounds as needed


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
o Valid class A CDL
o Possess or ability to obtain a valid DOT medical certification
o 2 years tractor trailer experience
o Satisfactory driving record per the MVR Check Standards for New Hires:
o Less than two moving traffic violations in total, includes a combination of minor and major violations during the past 36 months
o Less than two minor traffic violations during the past 36 months
o Less than one major traffic violation during the past 36 months, including but not limited to preventable at-fault accident
o Pass a job-related isokinetic physical capabilities test

SKILLS:
o Basic command of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking) in order to perform written and verbal communications required by the job
o Basic computer knowledge in order to utilize the PeopleNet system
o Ability to communicate and function with remote stakeholders via phone/email/PeopleNet
o Ability to work alone under minimal supervision for extended periods of time
o Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
o Ability to work overtime as needed
o Knowledge of Department of Transportation's requirements and regulations
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
